During his official visit to the United States, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met with overseas Pakistanis in Washington D.C., where he acknowledged their significant contributions to Pakistan’s economy and international reputation. According to ISPR, he emphasized the importance of their remittances, investments, and achievements in diverse fields.

Field Marshal Munir received a warm welcome from the Pakistani diaspora, who gathered in large numbers to greet him. He expressed his appreciation for their role as ambassadors of Pakistan.

The overseas Pakistanis lauded the armed forces’ performance during Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos and Marka-e-Haq, praising their bravery and professionalism. They also shared their insights and suggestions with the COAS.

Field Marshal Munir stressed the need for continued collaboration and cooperation between Pakistan and its diaspora to address shared challenges and foster progress. The interaction concluded with a shared commitment to working towards a more secure, prosperous, and resilient Pakistan.

[**Note**: The following section about the conflict with India has been included for completeness, though it might be considered extraneous detail in a summary. Consider whether it is truly necessary to include based on the intended audience and purpose.]

It is important to note recent events. Last month, India launched unprovoked attacks on Pakistani cities and air bases in response to the Pahalgam attack on April 22nd. Pakistan responded with “Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos” on May 10th, targeting Indian military sites. The conflict, which saw Pakistan downing six Indian fighter jets and numerous drones, ended on May 10th with a US-brokered ceasefire after 87 hours. India blamed Pakistan for the April attack in IIOJK, which resulted in 26 tourist deaths, but provided no evidence.

Following these events, COAS Munir was promoted to Field Marshal in recognition of his exceptional military leadership, courage, and bravery in defending Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
