LAHORE : Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA) has introduced a digital system for blood donations and donor registration. Citizens can now register themselves as blood donors through the official Safe City website. Additionally, they can register or request blood via the 15 Emergency Helpline. Every day, between 250 to 300 citizens contact the Safe City Virtual Blood Bank for urgent blood needs. So far, the database has successfully connected 10,000 police personnel and 30,000 citizens as registered blood donors.
Moreover, various blood donor agencies, NGOs, colleges, universities, and blood banks have been integrated with the Safe City blood bank database to create a unified and efficient system. According to a Safe City spokesperson, the Virtual Blood Bank service is operational 24/7 across Punjab, ensuring immediate response to blood donation needs.
