Following reports of Israeli attacks on Iranian soil, Pakistan has strongly condemned the actions, deeming them unjustified and a serious threat to regional and global peace. According to a statement released by the Foreign Office on Friday, these attacks represent a blatant violation of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, contravening the UN Charter and international law. The Foreign Office further emphasized Iran’s right to self-defense as enshrined in Article 51 of the UN Charter.

Reports indicate that Israel launched widespread strikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities, ballistic missile factories, and military commanders, stating its aim is to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Iranian media reported explosions, including at the Natanz uranium enrichment facility. Israel, in turn, declared a state of emergency, anticipating potential retaliatory actions. Furthermore, reports emerged of the death of a top commander from Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, Hossein Salami, and an attack on the unit’s headquarters in Tehran, with civilian casualties also reported.

Pakistan has voiced its unwavering solidarity with Iran, condemning the Israeli actions as a grave danger with potentially serious consequences for the region and beyond. The government urges the international community, particularly the United Nations, to uphold international law and hold Israel accountable.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his “deepest” sympathies to the Iranian people, condemning the “unprovoked attack” as deeply alarming and potentially destabilizing. He called for urgent international action to prevent further escalation.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar echoed these sentiments, calling the attacks a “brazen violation” of Iranian sovereignty and an undermining of international law and security. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with Iran.

Similarly, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari strongly condemned the attacks and offered condolences to the Iranian people, urging collective action to de-escalate the situation.

The Senate and National Assembly have also passed a resolution condemning Israel’s actions, characterizing them as a “war crime” against Iran.
