During an official visit to the United Arab Emirates on Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi. Discussions centered on bolstering cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the economic, investment, and development sectors. Both leaders emphasized the significance of joint efforts to promote stability and peace on regional and global scales.
According to the Emirati news agency WAM, Sheikh Mohamed welcomed Prime Minister Sharif. The two leaders also exchanged Eid ul Adha greetings, expressing hopes for continued prosperity for their respective nations and for peace and stability throughout the Muslim world and beyond.
Both President Sheikh Mohamed and Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening their relationship and expanding their partnership to achieve shared objectives and national development goals, with the ultimate aim of improving the lives of their citizens. They also discussed a range of regional and international issues of mutual concern and exchanged views on recent developments.
Prime Minister Sharif praised President Sheikh Mohamed’s efforts to advance peace, security, and stability regionally and globally, highlighting the UAE’s crucial role in promoting dialogue and diplomatic solutions to international conflicts and crises. He also expressed his gratitude for the UAE’s ongoing support for Pakistan and its impactful development projects within the country.
The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials from both countries. Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Sharif was received at Al Bateen Airport by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other senior officials upon his arrival in Abu Dhabi.
Separately, Prime Minister Sharif addressed Pakistan’s involvement in London Tech Week 2025. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to digital transformation, global tech engagement, and youth empowerment as the nation progresses towards a knowledge-based economy. He congratulated all involved parties on Pakistan’s impactful presence at the event, emphasizing that it demonstrates the country’s forward-thinking approach in utilizing technology, innovation, and the potential of its youth to engage with the world. He commended the Ministry of IT, PSEB, TDAP, and Pakistani tech entrepreneurs for their vision and purpose, expressing optimism for Pakistan’s tech future.
