Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday for an official visit, accompanied by a high-ranking delegation.
According to a statement from the Foreign Office, this trip underscores the strong, brotherly bond between Pakistan and the UAE, characterized by mutual trust, shared values, and close collaboration in various fields.
The delegation accompanying the Prime Minister includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with other federal ministers and senior officials.
While in the UAE, Prime Minister Sharif will hold high-level discussions with Emirati leaders, including a bilateral meeting with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi. These meetings will cover a broad spectrum of topics, including bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual interest and concern.
The Foreign Office stated that the Prime Minister’s visit aims to further solidify the long-standing, fraternal relationship between Pakistan and the UAE, deepen economic connections, and encourage diverse forms of collaboration. It also highlights the shared dedication of both nations to strengthening their mutually beneficial strategic partnership, enhancing cooperation in existing areas, and exploring new ways to improve their cordial bilateral relations.
Earlier this year, the UAE President visited Pakistan in January, landing in Rahim Yar Khan. During that meeting, both leaders emphasized their shared desire to deepen economic, political, and cultural ties. Their discussions encompassed a variety of issues, including economic cooperation, regional stability, climate change, and the advancement of shared interests on the global stage. Sheikh Mohamed also expressed the UAE’s strong interest in collaborating with Pakistan in the mining, minerals, and agriculture sectors.
Prime Minister Sharif expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Mohamed for the UAE’s consistent support, particularly during challenging times, including humanitarian assistance and development aid. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to peace and progress in the region, pledging to work together closely on matters of mutual interest. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to promote greater cooperation, particularly in priority sectors, to ensure a brighter future for both nations.
